Waterfire Providence®, the award-winning sculpture by Barnaby Evans installed on the three rivers of downtown Providence, has been praised by Rhode Island residents and international visitors alike as a powerful work of art and a moving symbol of Providence’s renaissance. WaterFire’s one hundred sparkling bonfires, the fragrant scent of aromatic wood smoke, the flickering firelight on the arched bridges, the silhouettes of the firetenders passing by the flames, the torch-lit vessels traveling down the river, and the enchanting music from around the world engage all the senses and emotions of those who stroll the paths of Waterplace Park. WaterFire has captured the imagination of over ten million visitors, bringing life to downtown, and revitalizing Rhode Island’s capital city.

Hopkins House is Open for tours. The house, built in 1707, is a valuable example of colonial culture and architecture. From 1743 until 1785 this was the home of Stephen Hopkins, ten times Governor of RI, member of the Continental Congress, signer of the Declaration of Independence, first Chief Justice of the Superior Court. We welcome students, preservationists, scholars, and those interested in our colonial heritage. A donation of $3 per person is suggested.

The Receptionist. “Can I put you into his voicemail?” Product lines, client meetings, protocol: it’s business-as-usual in the Northeast Office. To pass the time, there’s pastry, personal calls, and romantic advice for the zany co-worker. When that cute guy from the Central Office drops by, he’s happy to chat till the boss gets back. Then, in the blink of an eye, this familiar daydream becomes a nightmare you don’t see coming.

Simple and hilarious, The Receptionist gets under your skin until its chilling revelation is utterly inevitable.
